The Berkshire Conscious Dance Collective

The Berkshire Conscious Dance Collective is a movement practice that transcends mere physicality. It is also a spiritual practice. Conscious dance is the art of free-flowing motion, a pathway to emotional expression, instinctual connection, and boundless creativity. It’s about unlocking the joy, euphoria, and peace that lie within each of us.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to introduce the Berkshires to the transformative power of conscious dance, elevating consciousness, energy, and freedom within our community. We aspire to cultivate a supportive tribe of dancers who journey together through life’s highs and lows.

Join us in our bi-weekly dance classes, each offering a unique flavor of conscious dance. Led by our hosts Laura Garnett and Jessica Mahaney, these sessions provide consistent, powerful, and professional experiences designed to elevate your well-being and foster deep connections.

Guided by curated playlists, our classes invite you to explore your body, mind, and spirit. From slow stretches to energetic dance parties, every session is an opportunity to connect with yourself and others, release what no longer serves you, and embrace the fullness of being you!

No dance experience is necessary— just bring an open heart and a willingness to move as freely as you feel comfortable.

Join us on this transformative journey as we dance our way to elevated consciousness, vibrant energy, and a strong sense of community. Together, let’s discover the joy, well-being, and connection that conscious dance brings into our lives.

Bring a water bottle and wear clothes that allow you to move freely. Dancers’ outfits vary from yoga pants, workout shirts, and sports bras to flowy pants, dresses, or clothes that don’t restrict movement. Dewey Hall can get warm and participants sweat, so be prepared to wear layers.

We encourage people to take care of themselves and do what their body calls them to do. Resting, sitting, or lying down is all okay.

We welcome all people, however, Jess’s classes are held specifically for those who identify as women. This is to allow women a safe space for full expression. This distinction will be clear in the sign-up process.

We appreciate that there will be last-minute no-shows and understand that circumstances can change, however, due to our humble beginnings, we will not be able to refund day-of cancellations and will accept your ticket as a generous contribution. Thank you so much for understanding!

Each host has their own particular style for beginning and ending the dance, but all practices begin with an intention setting or guided meditation, and end in stillness. After the dance, there is often a circle of sharing, which is optional.

Yes, please invite anyone who would benefit from this practice. We would like to grow and the space will expand with more participants. Invite as many people as you’d like!

Tickets are $20 or as much as you can afford. Ticket purchase is required by Noon on Saturday before the dance. No refunds will be administered, we will accept any no-shows as generous donations.
